These Cute Kids!

I don’t have time to write a lot, but I wanted to share some pictures of the kidlets and what we’ve been up to. I didn’t know that the climbing gene was genetic, but apparently it is. For those who don’t know, J once (or maybe just once that he got caught) climbed to the top of his elementary school. I see that in our future…for both kids!

I went to a meeting last Thursday without the kids. I came home and found this house! They are so lucky to have such a cool Dad that makes them a house with a “passengerway” and a chimney!! The kids LOVE this…actually, I love it too!

Easter was a bit cool, but turned out to be a lovely day. We went to church and while we were there, the Easter Bunny came to visit. The kids were thrilled to find the treats in their baskets and then go for an Egg hunt in the back yard. S got a Lego Mater (from CARS) and A got a stroller for her babies. Both were huge hits!

To celebrate the beginning of Spring, the kids and I made ladybug rocks. Ok, S and I made them, aren’t they cute?? We’re giving them to family and friends, and I adore them! We put the eyes on them on Sunday afternoon. Oh, but we have to keep 4, because “Mom, they’d miss me too much!”

I love when my toddlers discover that they can nurse their babies through their bellybuttons! It’s my favorite!!! I also love when they nurse their cars. Who needs gas?

And finally I leave you with a self portrait by S. He’s getting to be quite the photographer! And such a cute face by Miss A!!!

One more cute thing to share. S is learning to sound out words, and generally does a really good job of it. Today, he was hiding in the curtains in the living room. Here is the conversation that followed;

S: Mom, the curtains are named “Opten Ta”
K: What?
S: The curtains are named Opten Ta!
K: Show me where you see that.
He then proceeds to show me the anchor for the pulley on the curtains. It reads: TO OPEN
Not too shabby eh? He is so funny and so smart, it cracks me up and amazes me daily. I love that kid.

Finally!! A Finished Object!

Yes ladies (and gentlemen…if there are any out there that read this blog), I’ve finished a project.  A knitting project at that!  I am pretty darn excited.  But not as excited as the little girl who gets to wear said knitting project!

So, I got a little carried away when doing the i-cord.  I took it with me to La Leche League last week and didn’t know how much to do, so I just kept going, and going, and going.  I actually like it so long because now I can wrap it around her and tie it in back.  She can’t undo it and I love that!

Here’s the specs:

Yarn: Shepherd’s Shades by Brown Sheep Wool. (I LOVE THIS YARN!!!)  The two colors I used are Thunderstorm and Chestnut.  This yarn is so splooshy, I just adore it and will use it again (and again, and again).

Pattern: Sheepy Time Longies by Mandie Harrington.  This is the second pair of longies I’ve made from this pattern and I really love it.  She does such a great job of explaining…and if you don’t get it, she’ll help you!!  What’s better than that?

Needles: Knit Picks size 8, 40 inch circular, knit in the Magic Loop.

The model: My adorable little girl who is helping Daddy fix the bathroom door :)

Seriously, I have SO much to tell you guys, but I have so little time.  So, this will be a very picture heavy post, they tell the story much better than I can.

Oh yes, it’s a new sewing machine for ME!!!  She said that I need a good machine for all the sewing I do.  THANK YOU MOM!!!  I LOVE IT!
So, do you want to see what I have made with it?  Ok, you can’t see everything because I forgot to take pictures of the CUTE dresses I made for a gal in Florida (Hi A!!).  But, I’ve been a busy bee making things for me and starting to make my dresses for the Market.

This super cute bag is from Amy Karol’s Bend the Rules Sewing Book.  I LOVE this book!!!  This was my first embroidery project and my first time doing a bag lining.  It was a bit tricky, but so worth the stress.  In that bag above are 3 knitting projects (not socks, big ones!), my wallet, phone, iPod, and other Motherly necessities!!!  It is huge!  I love it!
So, that’s my sewing I’ve done.  I love it!!!  Now, I have been such a slacker and not posted about what I got from Half Pint Pixie  for Pay it Forward.  This is an extra special little something because it came from Ireland!  Check it out!

I love it all!!  These beautiful handmade gift tags, sweet paper flowers and the great patch.  You rock HPP!
Look at this lamp.  This is in my sewing room.  It makes me so happy.  This lamp was in my room as a child and was made by my great-grandmother. Each of our names and birthday’s are on it (5 kids) and now the grandkid’s names and birthdays are on it.  It is not updated, so that is going to be my job.  I don’t mind.  I love it so much and it just fits in my sunny yellow sewing room!

Whew!  I got it all in.  Sorry, no house pictures this time.  I need to get some more unpacking done first! :)   I am almost done with Miss A’s longies, so be watching for pictures of those.  They are super cute!
Now, you saw that I got a pay it forward gift, so now it’s my turn to pay it forward.  I will choose 3 people at random and you will get a handmade gift.  I don’t know when exactly you will get it, but I promise it will be before December 31, 2008!  Hopefully before this little bean is born in September :)   So, leave me a comment here, or anywhere on my blog really, and I’ll choose 3 at random.

Check out my little man!

p3130025-small.jpg

So, S has been complaining of headaches for months now.  So, on Saturday we took him to the optometrist.  No wonder he was complaining…my sweet bubs needed glasses!  He is really farsighted and LOVES his new glasses!!!

Here he is enjoying a cookie at the bread store after getting his new specs.

After S got his glasses, A said, “Where my gasses?”  So, when we got home, I found hers and she is happy as a lark now.

Just a Quickie

Oh my goodness, I have so much to share, but I have a sleeping toddler on my lap, so I only have a minute.

We are moved, love our house and the hope of Spring!  We’ve even been able to play outside lately!  I’m sewing and doing (very little) knitting.  I’ll have lots of pictures next time, promise!

I have a request though.  S loves Buzz Lightyear.  He borrowed his cousins Buzz and tried to put his legs together…one of the legs broke off.  He was broken hearted.  So, I got on Ebay and found a brand new one for a very indecent price.  It is the little 5 inch Buzz that came out when the movie first came out in 1998.  He got it yesterday and Buzz has not left his side since.  Today he was playing with him and Buzz got hit against a wall and his leg broke off, again!  Poor kid.  I really don’t want to buy another one for such an outrageous price, however that is what they have on Ebay.

So, do any of you dear readers have a Buzz that is no longer played with and can be parted with?  I will pay shipping and even something for the actual Buzz.  Please, Please, Please.  There is a sweet 3 year old boy who will be the happiest boy in the world if anyone has one they can part with.

Thanks friends.  Now, I promise, I will be back (hopefully) this week with pictures of our new house, my new sewing machine (!!!!), my pay it forward gift, and of course, my adorable children!!! :D

Oh, and guess what??  12 weeks, no more morning sickness!!!  It actually only lasted for about 10 weeks…same as S.  I’ll bet this is another boy :)

Been a Long Time…

Yep…it’s been a while since I’ve blogged.  I don’t have any pictures for you, but I will soon.  We are moved into our new house and (mostly) out of boxes.  We painted S and A’s room a beautiful green color (think Christmas green).  It’s only on one wall, so I can handle it :)   They love it!

S keeps asking when we’re going to move again.  A is just cranky.  The girl is getting all 4 molars right now and I suspect her eye teeth also.  Not fun.  But, hopefully she will get them all and be done with this round the clock nursing very soon.  It hurts!

It is March.  I am SO glad.  I love March.  The snow starts melting and we get glimpses (however small) of Spring.  On Saturday morning it was absolutely gorgeous out.  I am guessing it was around 50 degrees.  Well, it was the warm before the storm, the temperature quickly dropped and by 2:00, it was snowing, much to my chagrin.  Today, however, the sun is shining and the snow is melting, so it is good :)

So, in honor of March, here are some things I am really looking forward to!

1. Sewing more and getting ready for the Gardner’s Market that starts in May.

2. Taking long walks with my little ones in the warm sunshine.

3. Starting my garden plants inside.

4. Finding the perfect flowers for my new yard.

5. Landscaping my yard and planning the garden.

6. Letting my children run wild OUTSIDE finally.

7. The end of winter.  That is what I am most looking forward to.  I need winter to be done, it is long, cold and dreary.  Welcome sunshine, welcome spring, welcome March.
